The unit one test will be the preparation and presentation of an autobiography.
Autobiography. Prepare an autobiography which gives a complete picture of who you are. You may do this in writing, as a powerpoint presentation (please submit on CD-ROM), or on a video. It should be entirely in Spanish. You should illustrate your autobiography with copies of pictures, original drawings, or magazine cut-outs. Your goal is to make it as interesting as possible for the reader. You should include information about at least seven of the following categories (or think of additional categories if you wish):
Physical description
Birthdate and favorite seasons / holidays
Description of a typical day at school (what you do, what classes you have, what you like/dislike about TJ, etc.)
What your hobbies are and what you do in your free time
What you did during Summer vacation
A brief description of your family: what they do, what they are like, why they are important (or not important) to you
What your home is like and what you commonly do at home.
What your morning routine is like (reflexives) and how you get ready for school.
What your favorite foods and restaurants are and why
Any other information that you feel is important to understanding you.
Please use creativity as you work through the different topics. You may create one or more slides for each topic, or use an interview style (question / answer), mini-chapter style, audiovisual style, etc. The important thing is that all topics are covered and that the Spanish is correct. You may seek help from other Spanish-speakers in correcting and perfecting your autobiography as long as you write the original draft on your own and work with them during the revision process. You may also use notes, the Internet and a dictionary in preparing your autobiography. You may not type your autobiography in English and then use a computer or live translator.
I would prefer simple, correct Spanish. If you don't understand exactly what you have written, then you will not receive credit. There is no minimum length as long as all of the questions are addressed. Please do not "over-write". Rather, be concise, correct and careful. Prior to turning in your work, visit the autobiography grading rubric.

Oral Presentation. Do an oral presentation where you present your autobiograph to the class (in Spanish).
Although you may not read the presentation, you may use notes and refer to the autobiography itself in the presentation. You will then be expected to answer questions from the class and Sr. Tate. As you prepare, visit the oral presentation grading rubric.
