Music video rules - 2009:
- There is no limit to group size this year. Please make sure your group is able to schedule time to work together. Sometimes it is easier to work in a smaller group.
- Music videos must be based on a song in Spanish. Songs may not contain any explicit lyrics or inappropriate themes. If you are not sure about a specific song, check with me.
- You should choose a song from the class lists that was not done in a previous year. No more than one group may do the same song. If you find something that should be on the class list, please come see me and we'll talk about adding it.
- All members of the group must participate in the video. This includes memorizing the song for presentation. The purpose of this activity is to help you learn more about the Spanish language and culture as well as enjoy popular Spanish music.
- Please deliver a copy of your video to Sr. Tate by the assigned due date (Thursday, December 10, 2009) . You may submit your video in any digital format. (mini-dv, CD, DVD, e-mail, saved on public drive) . No other modes are acceptable without prior permission as I need to be able to see the video. Remember, I have a digital video camera available for check out.
- I will help you find the music and lyrics for your song (as long as it is from the class lists). Additionally, I am available anytime during tutorial to help you film or edit your video. Windows movie maker is a free editing tool available on your computers. Apple has imovie and I can help you with other options as needed.
- I want your music video to be as high-quality as possible, but these should be student-produced and edited. No professional filming or editing will be allowed. Your friends can help you (without charge), but you should give them credit in your movie.
- Late videos will not be accepted under any circumstances. However, early videos will receive 5 mastery points (towards the quarter) for each day early they are turned in early. Please remember that videos will be graded prior to receiving bonus points. Regardless of when the video is turned in, the maximum number of bonus points is equal to the grade earned on the video. (Videos will be worth 200 points). Final due date = Thursday, December 10, 2009
- Have fun!
